Railway Access

Two Class I freight carriers, the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) and the Kansas City Southern Railroad (KCS), provide main line rail service to McAlester and ensure local businesses can send and receive freight at a reasonable cost and timing.

Arkansas-Oklahoma Railroad

The Arkansas-Oklahoma Railroad Company (A-OK) is a local, Class III freight carrier that connects to and switches with the Union Pacific and Kansas City Southern mainlines. A-OK manages the direct rail connection with the Steven Taylor Industrial Park and provides logistical services, including the transportation, transload, and storage of freight railcars.
